Hello everyone,

I recently bought a used 2005 seadoo RXT. The speedometer says it is only running 42MPH and I only weigh 15 It has 90 hours as I pulled it out of the water today. Any ideas on what would cause it to not run as fast as it should? Could it be the supercharger having not been rebuilt yet and it being 14years old?

I have read that 2004-2007 these models have ceramic washers in the supercharger that could cause issues. Everyone recommends to get the supercharger rebuilt ASAP if it hasn’t been recently. Also apparently 2004-2007 had exhaust valve issues which could lead to serious issues down the road.

Maybe check the wear ring and and jet pump area for issues. Maybe a set of new spark plugs might help too. I’m not really too experienced, but I’ve got some good information from here!

I will check out getting the supercharger rebuilt. I didnt not know about the exhaust valve issues. Hopefully they would be relatively easy to replace. The wear ring and impeller were replaced in February but the company that did took 6months before I bought it. I was thinking about doing the tune up for shits and giggles. I will probably replace the coil packs next season. Thank you for your help. Hope I find someone in here that works on their own that lives near Savannah GA that will help me work on mine.

There’s a YouTube video on how to change your valves by 3ftDeep. He goes over it really good and I think he’s a member in this forum... I don’t know the policy or rule on sharing links but the name of the video is: “How To: Sea-Doo 4-TEC Engine Valve Replacement”
