Pod Filter Question

I bought a used engine (787) last year, carbs came with it and so did pod filters. I guess that's what they are called. I decided to use the carbs and rebuild them for my XP that is having issues. So.... I pulled the carbs apart and found 135 main jets in the carbs. I'm no engine tuner but I would have thought larger jets would have been more appropriate with filters that flow more air. Of course I ditched the jets and used the correct ones. I am not contemplating the pod filters on this XP as I am keeping it stock and stock is pretty darn good. I do have another XP with Pod Filters and Buckshot carbs so any input on this topic would be helpful and useful.

What size pilot jets? Also how far out was the high speed jet.
Normal is 167.5 with 70 pilots
Also a 135 pilot and 90 pilot + a little high speed gives the right amount of fuel total it just changes when that fuel is applied.

So with pods you have less vacuum signal and need more fuel or to make it easier to draw fuel with larger jets. But once flow takes over instead of vacuum it will be way off again so more changes are needed mid to top end.
