I have a seadoo with a 787 engine and I need to winterize it because I will be leaving it outside covered, over the winter. I have read all I can find on here, and get confused when I also read about boats in general (I assume boats are different in some regards).
What do I need to do to my personal seadoo before I stick it outside in the cold this winter??
thanks alot guys.

at the risk of sounding like a moron, I DO know to take out battery, add fuel stablizer, and possibly "fog" the cylinders if I can do so. What I DONT understand how to do, is to add antifreeze? I thought these things were cooled off by the lake water that runs thru them, so I would assume that the engine is dry of any water? Where and how do I add antifreeze?

There are several places, where water is trapped, in the cooling system. Around the cylinders, and under the head is one place. Also, some of the exhaust parts are water cooled. There are places that can trap water. When it freezes, BANG, there goes the cylinder!

So, basically, you winterize it like an RVs commode. Add anti freeze, so nothing busts.

And, I think you should also cover it with a heavy duty tarp, to help keep uv rays off the nice sea doo cover. (Mine has no cover!)

Nature of the beast.

thanks alot guys, this site is the best. I assume that write up is different than my machine as my machine would not have an intercooler right? (sorry, VERY new to these things).
With the 787 I would only have to get the water out of the cylinders and the exhaust (however that is done). I'm trying to find a link to intructions on which lines to unplug, and where to add the antifreeze when I do. I have only had this machine in and out of the water twice EVER and dont even totally understand where the water gets taken in (other than big hole on bottom of machine that I had to take seaweed out of once). LOL

Antifreeze?

The most simple way for you to do this, since you've never really done it, is to follow "seadoosource's" instructions. This is by far, the easiest way to winterize............
