Hi, first post here..i have a 95 gtx 657x it has the 278000423 mpem, found out the diode is blown so i ordered a mr2535l, while waiting for it i decided to start taking the potting compound away from what i thought was the diode near the 5 amp fuse holder slightly to the right of it it was a blue something like a resistor or another diode so i pulled that out and i got the mr2535l diode just now and realized what i took out of the mpem is not the same one so 2 questions....

edit: the capacitor or whatever it is i destroyed was in a spot thats round says + - and says c25

what did i destroy? so i can find a replacement...and where is the mr2535l diode on this board?...hopefully someone has pictures of this board

please help asap...thank you in advance

the "C25" is just a marker on the board meaning "Capacitor number 25". So... that's not any help. Now... since there is + - on the board... that tells me that it was an electrolytic type. Did you save the part you ripped out? The rating would have been on the outer case. If you didn't... you could just put a cap back in the board and keep your fingers crossed. If it's just for filtering... then anything would work... but if it's part of a timing circuit, then the cap value is critical.

As far as where exactly is the diode in that MPEM... I have no idea. All you can do is carefully pull the potting compound until you find it. But... it will be close to the 5a fuse.

Thnx for the reply...after using a magnifying glass on what was left and stretched of the label on the capacitor found out it is a 4.7 uf 35 v capacitor ...now all is good ..appreciate the help
