i was just on my 07 rxt 215, everything was working great then the supercharger stoped working. will only do like 53mph. is this the washer problem. is there some things i could try problem solving at the dock. everything is closed today, cant bring to dealer, has 141hrs. last service at 120.

The superchargers are supposed to be rebuilt every 100hrs, I believe (I don't have a supercharged model). If it stopped working I would NOT run the engine any more, or you could cause severe (like needing a new engine) damage. Take it in, or inspect the supercharger yourself. If you have the ceramic washers and they exploded, you are looking at $$$$$$$ to repair.

If you are lucky, and nothing exploded (meaning that the washers are all still fully intact) then a supercharger rebuild should solve the problem. Search the forum on 'superchargers' and I'm sure you'll find plenty of info. Good luck!

Pull the air intake hose off the SC, reach in with 2 fingers and thumb and try to turn the air impeller wheel inside the SC. If it turns easily, or Heaven forbid you can spin it by fingertips, then you have lost the washers and you're NOT taking that machine to the lake this holiday weekend! The Seadoo SC's are supposed to be completely rebuilt every 100 hrs, and everybody agrees that no matter how many hours are on it if it still has the OEM ceramic clutch washers they should be REPLACED IMMEDIATELY with steel clutch washers.

Regards!

i havent tryed to spin it yet with my figers. just pulling it out of water. now i started to motor. its runniung fine. i dont think its the washers cuz the motor would probly be blown by now, are the SC run off a belt of chain? could a belt or chain have broken and just not sinning the SC now?

The supercharger is gear driven off the crankshaft. Do as Michael says. If it spins easily don't run the engine.

Not necessarily. But if the washers have broken up they are now down in the motor and can be causing damage... the more you run it with their pieces circulating around, the more and more damage you'll do to engine components until something catastrophic happens. The sooner you find out if the SC washers are intact or not, the better!

Do not run the ski anymore until you can determine what's wrong. If the ceramic SC washers (assuming your ski has ceramic washers) have gone out, then the pieces are now in the engine.

To completely fix the problem (assuming it's the SC washers), you will need to pull the engine and clean out all of the washer parts floating around inside the engine. This is in addition to rebuilding the SC.
