please help !! LANYARD PROBLEM ?

I have a 97 sp ,think the lanyard is bad or needs reprogramed if you can do that .. It used to beep every once in a while but always started .went to start it today and nothing not a sound like no battery and it has 12 volts in it ... Suppose to ride tomorrow please help !!

take an eraser to landyard and post, then retry. Make surethe battery is good.

Ok i will go try that they are pretty clean . Can a lanyard lose program ?

Is there any way to check or reprogram the lanyard ?? How do you check dess?

The lanyard is just a chip... the MPEM holds the "program." The only way to check it is to take it to a dealer and have them hook it to the BUDS system.

It is uncommon, but it can happen. (the MPEM looses it's memory)

Is there anything else i can check? If i push the start button 5 times in a row it will beep twice ,does that mean anything ?

I left the lanyard hooked up alnite and it started rite up today . Don't understand can anyone explain ? Scared to unplug it !

if you don't unplug it... your battery will die. AND... DO NOT hook up a charger while the lanyard is connected. It could kill your MPEM.

Since it started... the MPEM is fine. It sounds like the lanyard post is starting to fail.

If you push the button 5 times... you should get a long and a short beep. That's telling you that it's in advanced mode. From there, you put on the lanyard, and press the button one more time. The beeps that follow give you the condition of the system.

I hope this don't sound dumb but i guess no beep is bad and one beep or more is good ... Btw thanks for all the replies and help !! This is a great site and i have learned alot ..
