A couple of weeks ago my daughter snapped both of the plastic hinges on the glove compartment of my 98 challenger. So I logged onto the parts fish here at seadoo forums and ordered them up. Got a nice box in the mail yesterday with one not two hinges. My problem is I am leaving for the lake on Monday and don't have time for them to send another. I do have some small brass hinges I was going to try, guess I will have to now:mad:

I am lucky, my family and I own and operate an Ace hardware store so the rivets are a non issue. Just now I was looking through our hinge selection and found a pretty close match to the stock plastic in solid brass:)

Will the brass hinges lie flush? I tried stainless but they stuck up too high and would catch on us as we were moving around and sliding over them.

Watch Out on Cooler Door Hinges!!!

At least on mine, they were NOT rivets that could be drilled out. They were screws with very small allen heads, the immediately stripped out. I tried to drill them out but they were about 3/4" long and I could not get all the way through them.

I ended up drilling new holes just inside those, through the hull and hinge, and using a longer rivet.

Back hatch took me about 10 minutes. Then I wasted 2 hours on the cooler hatch:ack:
