Just use a soldering iron to melt the edges of the square window you cut out to get to the F1 fuse.

Well I got the cover off and its a bit messy, but it did have spark when I tested it. Can this be cleaned up and ran? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. With money now getting tight I want to use what I can.

Making some progress, hood and front of the ski are all cleaned up. Reinstalled the mag cover with a new o-ring to keep any water out of it. I got the carbs both rebuilt with popoff set at 33 and 35, rest of fuel system is new now also, all factory parts from OSD. Oil lines replaced and bled with a new filter installed also. Waiting on my plugs to be welded into the tuned pipe and some new O-rings for the RAVE valves to arrive so I can try to start this ski up. Put in a new fuel float and luckily the F1 fuse was ok, full around 0 ohms and empty around 88 ohms. I took the water valve out to inspect it and wasn't sure if these were all the parts to it, someone had it out prior to me working on it, see pic?

Couple of questions on the RAVE valves, how many turns on the red caps do set them at to have them properly adjusted, I could not find it in the repair manual? Second do need to put a zip tie on the small lower portion of the bellow, there is nothing on it now?

Nothing needs to be on the lower portion of the bellows.

Most set them flush with the housing or a couple turns in. You can play with them as there is no wrong way and you won't hurt anything it just changes when the power hits. The important thing is to have them both set the same.

I did another compression test on this with the new starter in and wanted to know if it is normal for it to build compression so slowly, utube video link. About 160psi

I also did another test with a different gauge. About 142psi

Is this normal? Not sure what gauge to trust.

No, that is not normal. It should build within a few cranks. There is something up with the gauge not the engine.

So I'm thinking the lower gauge reading about 140 is a safe bet, it built pressure much quicker. My shop is closed through the end of the month and don't have access to another one until then. Still waiting on my pipe to get welded to move forward with this.

She is alive after sitting for 3 years, Idles great and revs up quickly, charging at 13.8v, and the fuel gauge is opperational! Time to order parts to get the pump back together and installed.

Free trim fix, I found everything in my garage from old projects to complete it. Followed the instructions I found on PWC today to wire up the relays. Looking forward to trying to install it into the ski tomorrow and see if it works.

How do I remove the bearings from the pump, I tried to hit them out with a punch but they didn't move, just fell apart?

You will need a press.

You might be able to get by with a socket and a vise but be very careful reinstalling as there is a specific depth everything has to be set at per the manual.

Yep I have punched the old ones out in the past. Now use a press. And don't buy the small bench top press at Harbor Freight it is not big enough to set the pump in.

Do you think if I froze the bearings I could install them easily and just tap them lightly with a hammer and socket to get them at the correct depth.
