So I picked up this 1996 XP the other day off Craig's. Looks like a JSG build, guy I got it from said the guy he purchased from had a bunch of Sea-doo's so I think it's a JSG. I was going to use this as a donor for some parts for my 1995 XP800 resto but I got it home and my wife says it's too nice for a donor. So it looks like we will be keeping this.

Is that black coating on the inside of the ski?? If so... what is that stuff ?? I have a 98XP I am going to make a keeper. I want to fix it up nice. I am also working on a 96 I plan to keep as well. That should do it for me. :D :D Maybe. Ha ha Again, great looking skii??

Thanks guys!! etemplet I don't think that is a coating on the exhaust pipe, I think he just sprayed black paint over the purple and now you see all the imperfections with the shiny black paint. I think I might sell my GSX now but don't really want to since I finished it late last year and enjoy it. These damn things are addicting LOL!

Dang I got a new standard to shoot for now. :D Schweet !!

A few years ago Matt and I were going back and forth with restos constantly pushing each other to the next level. A bunch of other guys got the itch too and it was awesome, we were all inspiring each other and other guys. We were sharing tips and tricks with each other. Just look thru his threads and mine, we shared a lot of info on our restos. He was actually doing it and flipping skis with his buddy. He had a guy buying his skis and taking them to Canada and doubling his money on what he was paying Matt. Just do the best you can do and push yourself on every build you do to the next level. There is only one person you have to impress----yourself. Only advice I can lend is just because you think something looks badass doesn't mean the next guy will. Always think of resale. Nothing better than popping the seat and saying damn, that looks better than new. The other advice I have is don't keep receipts and have as much fun as you can.

Yes they are very cool !! I never thought my wife would enjoy these skis so much. She rocks !! :)

Don’t forget what the wife doesn’t know won’t hurt her although friends and family will get tired of stashing your hoard. Ask me how I know.

LOL. I am blessed with the perfect wife for me. :) Her ski is faster and she laughs at me and rubs it in. :D :D

Had to scratch my head today.... bring the XP home from the Hangar to work on or the SPI? The XP Won. Headed to my buds shop for paint prep
