Painting Rub Rails - anyone ever use rocker guard?

Krylon fusion. If you do it right you can touch it up with out any problems.

The problem is... the rub rails are a Poly-Ethylene type plastic. Most things won't stick to it. (Sorry)


If you want to go black... I would try to dye it. Use Rit dye, and follow the instructions.
 
Well, here's 2 seasons with krylon fusion. The back has "some" wear from bumping docks and what not. Not one sign of flaking or peeling what so ever. When I painted the front bumper I let it dry and twisted the nose probably 360 degrees, no problem. Fusion is amazing, I wouldn't put anything else on them.

The yellow is not painted, that is genuine yellow insert.

Doc,

The fusion is some amazing stuff. I had the rub rail completely off my HX when I painted it. I wiped it down real good with lacquer thinner and then sprayed it on. It actually looks nicer than my black rub rail that isn't painted. It comes in satin only I think, or at least that was all I could find.
