I used Interlux Brightside from West marine last summer to paint mine. Alittle pricey once you get the reducer and primer but its very easy to work with and lays out very flat. You can roll it brush or spray it on. I sprayed it.
When I had to fix a gel coat chip I just sprayed outdoor spray paint that was close to the right color. We are talking on the transom so it wasnt very noticeable. It was a Mcgiver but it worked all season
