Diagnosis:
- Engine check light was on at start up.
- Display Cluster shows a P2080 fault ( EGT sensor malfunction ).
- Upon engine compartment inspection, discovered the EGT sensor fell out.

Repair:
- Unplug EGT sensor from connector
- Remove the hose directly above EGT sensor for easy access

- Remove brass EGT sensor fitting

- Clean any burnt plastic from sensor and brass fitting with file or sandpaper ( do not file/sand metal part of sensor )
- Assemble EGT sensor and brass fitting
- ( Optional )Test sensor with multimeter. Set to Ohms. Room temp = 1.65kohm. Hot water = 1.5kohm. ( this test just shows the sensor is changing with temp )
- Install EGT sensor assembly
- Install hose
Testing:
- Start engine. P2080 error is gone, but ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON.
- Engine light went out after several restarts or 1 hour of operation ( I still don't understand how the computer resets the engine light ).
I hope you find this helpful, Happy Boating
