P O116 What is it and what is the fix

2006 GTI SE 4 tec flashed a P 0116 code.. I was told it was over heating.. it seemed ok.. coolant was up in overflow container, no sign of leaking coolant,, No weeds or junk ... can some one help?

The CTS (Coolant Temp Sensor) is almost always the issue/ They fail and trip the code.

You can buy one of those laser temp guns and see what the actual temp is..
