Hope I don't sound like a jack-off... but this question has been talked to death this summer. Please search.
The short answer is... DO NOT USE TC-w3 oils. ONLY use API-TC oil in your SeaDoo. And if the oil you are looking at has a dual certifacation... don't use it either. (it's chemically impossible to meet both requirements)

Yeah what he said. It gets brought up almost daily. At Wally world you can find the Quicksilver PWC oil. It still runs just under 40 bucks a gallon for full synthetic. It is a bit cheaper than XPS. There are other brands out there that work if you can find them. Just search for the oil topic here.

hi, does it mean that, with all the tons of motor oil available at wallmart and autozone and checkers, not one of them fit to use on our seadoo boat? how is rotax different from other 2 stroke engines?? as far as i know,..if it lubricates your'e good to go...but i just need some guidance from the pros. / any experience with cheaper brands of oil??

Dude you need to read up here. Otherwise in a couple months you are gonna be on here complaining about your motor problems and the crap oil you put in your boat.
These boats need an API-TC oil. They can not use any old oil. Especially a regular TCW3 outboard 2 stroke marine oil. It is the Low Ash no Ash that makes the difference. Sea Doo engines require low ash. Most other 2 stroke oils are ashless. There a few other brands that are cheaper, like I said, you can find Quicksilver at Wal Mart. There is also , Amsoil, Mystik, and Lucas to name a few.
There are lots of "experiences" with the cheap brands and non API oils. do a little research here and you will find pics of the carnage and stories of overheated engine components and failures.
