As we awoke yesterday my girlfriend and I decided to spend the day at crystal lake for the second sunday in a row. So we startec getting things around and she washed her truck but not 5 minutes after it started pouring. What the heck! It wasn't supposed to rain til after 7p.m! So plans were cancelled. Then a half hour later it was back to sunny and 85. Typical michigan stuff. We decided to proceed with our original plans. Off we go. It takes roughly 45 min to an hour to get to the lake and as we arrive just like the weekend before, No Parking. I wasn't too concerned tho. The week before I parked in a spot along the road and was not ticketed so I parked in that exact spot.
We were on the lake for probly a good 4 hours when all of a sudden the sky turned dark. But ther wasn't any lightning or thunder and by viewing the radar on my phone it looked like it would just blow over. So we figured we would just wait it out rather than mad dash the boat launch.
So ther I am holding the anchor rope to try to give us a little more stay when one of the continuous 4 foot swells takes my sunglasses away. No chance in getting those back. So after about 15 min the wind and rain subsides and I have the girl flip on the bilge pump. But its not pumping! I figured it had air locked and I just had to give the exit hose a shake. Climb up the boat, open the engine hatch. Holy Spit! Water spraying out of about 6 little holes in the flimmsy plastic bilge tube. Only thing I coul come up with is that from bouncing maybe it was hitting the fibeglass and a piece had pubctured it. So I try crimping the hose together to reduce the amount of spray shooting everywhere and I got the water to a safe level. Now its time to head to the launch. We weren't having fun anymore. Put the lanyard on, hit the button, no fire!" O Dear God" I said. The spray from the water musta got the coil wires wet or somthing. So I try it twice more cursing each time and on the second time it fired. Out of the water we go. At the dock, run to the truck just see a little soaking wet white piece of paper stuck under my wiper.
Now I'm on fire! How can they give a person a ticket for parking along the road when ther are cars without even trailers parked in the lauch parking! If any one should get a ticket it should be them. I no I'm not the only one who feels this because I'm not the only one who got a ticket that day. But jeeze o petes. What a way to end the day.
It was a long quiet ride home.
