2000 xp that has been running fine all summer. I go to start it today on a fully charged battery and I get one long beep. So i thought maybe my battery is bad. So I take a battery that I know is 100% fully charged b/c my other ski started off that one, again one long beep. Any ideas why this is happening? Last time it ran was when I flused it out.

I'm pretty sure that one long beep means the MPEM doesn't recognize the DES (lanyard). Since it's cheap and easy try cleaning the DES and DES post with a pencil eraser. If that doesn't work it's probably the DES post. Check the wiring first.

my xp is touchy with the key, if its not quite right i get a long beep, but if my gauges move its on right (doesnt beep though). buzzer might be bad to where you dont get your OK beeps.

Its just weird that's its happening now after running great all season, its not that's it not doing the 2 beeps only, its also not starting my guess its the MPEM no recognizing the key but IDK why?

Maybe we're both over looking something. Lets get another opinion from a professional. PM Dr Honda and see what he thinks.
