Trying to start up a 97 xp, it has been sitting for 2-3 months. Wont start.

With plugs out one cylinder shoots out oil.

I assume it is because a seal it warn.

Could it be any thing else?

If I keep turning it over and get rid of the oil, I assume it will be able to start.

I also noticed oil on the bottom of the hull, seems like something might have been slowly leaking. All lines are in good shape.

Thanks everyone.

As the engine gets older... it's normal for the rotary valve seals to leak. Try to get out as much oil as you can, and use a little starter fluid to get it to fire. Once it goes... it should only become a problem once it sits again.
