Okey one engine aint giving power!

Okey guys,

I bought a speedster 200, last year, today was the first day we had some nice weather after a loooooooooon winter and I have a problem.

Everything worked well, but one of my engines do not pull, it starts and everything but when I hit F and hit the gas, it just goes up in RPM so the boat shakes but doesnt pull. What could the problem be?

Second is that the ****ing larm on the boat sometimes starts to shout like hell when Im in neutral and dont do nothing?! I have to turn the engines off so I dont go deaf!

Where exact do I find the carbon seal on the drive shaft, Im pretty new so if anyone have a blue print or picture I would REALY appreciate. :hurray:

behind the engine. behind/under the gray cover. there is a rubber boot it is clamped to.

Okey thanks will check it out, most difficult is to play in the engine compartment when the boat is on water, almost no space. How do you guys do this, propably get it out of water?

Can there be a cable or something that has been disconnected, if so which cable?

You can't do it in the water. If the carbon seal is bad, the pump, and the drive shaft has to be removed.

If the buckets behind the nozzles are going up and down... then no.


As far as the alarm/buzzer making noise... that is from one of your engines overheating. It could be from the one pump not working, but most likely it's from cooling hoses that are clogged.

This boat needs to be serviced completely so you don't hurt your engines.

Do you mean fuel pump? Can the fuel pump be the bad one if it doesnt work well, can then the engine not get power and because of that maybe overheating and thats why the sound?

I do not have no problem of starting the engines tho.

Not the fuel pump. Your jet pump. It makes the boat move, but it also sends the water into the engine for cooling. If it isn't building pressure... then you won't get any cooling water.

Okey here goes another question, where is the jet pump located?

I tryed to narrow it down by this prints but cant find it.

Also does someone have a picture from behind a speedster how it should look like? Im wondering a bit about the white plugs above the engine, I have no plug above the left engine but above the right there is a plug and thats also the engine that doesnt work right, I thought maybe thats the cooling inlet for water or something? hmm

Okey I got the boat out on trailer, checked the impellers on the faulthy engine and it looks the same as the "good" engine.

Now my question comes, if a stone gets sucked inside, is there any place its lieing around? I heard their is some net/grill under the boat you demount to get stones etc out? I know some boats have a button below the shifts where you hit it and the grill opens to let all stuff fall out?

Can the engine cavatate if the flush plugg is plugged on the engine and it doesnt get cooled?
