The only way to know for sure is to remove it… run it with a drill… and check it’s output. This procedure is outlined in the service manual.

A quick way to check the oil pump is at an idle on the hose, locate the oil pump disk with the cable on it and rotate if full open at an idle. You should see smoky oil burn, as it pumps too much oil into the engine. The test in the manual is almost impossible to perform. You need to keep the oil pump at a specific rpm and measure how much oil is pumped at a given time frame...Sounds good, but un realistic to do.
