I've got a 98 Speedster with the twin 787's.
I've just noticed while greasing the drive shaft through the fitting on the the fly wheel that one of the plastic fly wheel covers is coated with what looks like engine oil.
The oil is on the underside of the cover and looks like it maybe coming from the rear crank seal??? Could this oil be from the counter balance shaft??
The cover from the other engine is clean with no oil.
According to my manual the crankcase needs to be split to change the seal. Is there an easier way???
I haven't noticed any oil in the bottom of the boat so it can't be leaking a lot...I hope.
