Read online that oils can gel inside the tank if mixing two different brands. Is this true? I am running low on the oil in my tank but have a half gallon of intereceptor to use. If I’m going to run a couple tanks of fuel and probably a hole tank of oil in the next day or two would it be used up fast enough before the two gel together. I just want to ride while I wait for my couple gallons of XPS to get here on Friday.

With 2 stroke oils... there isn't a "Standard" like with car engine oils. And on top of that... there are several different catigories of 2-stroke oils. Each having a different additives package. Because of this... YES... you can have unpredictable issues when mixing. I've seen everything from jello, to "Stuff" just falling out of solution. Both are very bad for your engine.

Every "New to me" PWC gets a full oil system flush and service. That way, I know EXACTLY whats in the tank.

With that said.... MOST TC-w3 type oils can mix, as they have a similar additives pack. (It's the fish safe oil) I still generally say to not mix synth and dino oils together. But under no circumstances should you EVER use a TC-w3 oil in a Seadoo PWC.

****EDIT****

I just saw your skis in your name. I know Yamaha says TC-w3 oils are ok... but they LIE !!! lol. If you want that GP1200 to live a much longer life, feed it only a synthetic API-tc, or Jaso-Fc oil.

Thanks for the reply. The 1200 is gone now. It’s a new 1800 so I don’t have to worry much about oil. The thread is for my xp. I’m not sure what’s in there now but it is red in color(which I’ve heard is seadoo full synthetic) I’m hoping putting a little full synthetic amsoil interceptor won’t hurt anything until the XPS full synthetic comes in Thursday or Friday.

Just keep in mind your impatience might cost you an engine. You asked and we are telling you it's a bad idea.
