I have a 97 challenger with a single 787 motor. I still have the oil tank with two oil lines running to both sides of the motor but there is a bypass plate where the oil pump goes. Can I remove the oil tank and the two lines going to the motor or do I need to keep them?

You need them. In the center of the engine is a set of gears that spins the rotary valve. They won't run very long without oil. Also... if you try to remove the tank, and just put oil in the case... you may still eat the gears because of a leak, or oil break-down.

It's best to leave it in the hull, and about half full of oil. If you don't get a leak... the oil level will never drop.

without these lines hooked up will that cause the motor not to reach top RPMs, or could it be that when I had my rave valves shaved because the bore they didnt do it right?
