Oil pump?

I just got done rebuilding the top end of my 99 gti. Also replaced all fuel and oil lines. I didn't replace the oil pump but did replace the 2 outlet nipples/pressure valves that have the small oil lines running to the rotary cover. I primed the pump. Large oil line has no air bubbles. Started engine and ran for 10 seconds or so. No oil is coming up the small lines. Did I just find the reason the top end shelled in the first place?

Make sure the bleed screw has oil coming out... then start it at idle, and hold the pump arm to the full position. you will see the oil pulse up the little lines in about 10 seconds.

If you did the top end... as oil (40:1) to the fuel tank. Also... when bleeding the little lines... I like to pour an ounce of oil down each carb to keep the engine safe.

Thanks for the advice. I did put oil in the gas. About 2oz/gallon. I have oil dripping out of the bleed screw. I held the pump arm at wide open. Ran it for about 10 seconds and nothing.

Make sure the nipples are clear in the manifold. Also... if yours has the fittings on the pump where the little hoses hook to... they have check valves. Take them off, and blast them with some carb cleaner, and a little compressed air to make sure they are working and clear.

Yes, I actually replaced those with new ones. Didn't check after replacing but assuming they are working. Also, cleaned the fittings in the rotary valve cover before assembling. I was under the impression that these Sea-Doo oil pumps were bullet proof. It sat for 3 years before I bought it. Possible that the pump dried out?

Generally... they are bullet proof. The only failures I've seen (other than physical damage) is when they are run dry. (some one running premix but leaves the pump on) Sitting normally doesn't hurt them since they will have oil inside.

Ok, I've fully premixed the gas at 40:1. I've ran it probably for a full minute and still no oil coming up to the RV cover. Is there any concerns with driving it as is with the gas fully premixed? Oil tank is also full.

I had this same problem with my spx this year. I changed the oil lines and it wouldnt get any oil to the carbs. So i did some research and ended up changing the oil/check valve fittings (like you did) and it fixed it. I ended up shutting off the fuel, putting the wires on the grounding post and cranking it for 5-10 seconds at a time, while holding the oil pump arm wide open. It took a bit but eventually it started pulsing up the line. Hope this helps you out dude.

If you don't hold the arm wide open with the engine running it will take forever to get any oil into the lines. Normally at idle these pump very very little oil because the engine needs almost none at idle.
