anybody know if the oil pump drive for a 97 gtx 787 changed style to a 947 style drive

thanks stitch626

Since it is not an easy switch I assume that you have the 787 engine, if you do it will have a 787 oil pump.

They pump different amounts of oil. You need to use a pump designed for the engine you have.

thanks for reply, i have the 787 and i want new oil pump and new drive shaft. but the new drive shaft that was sent to me is not the same as the old one. it looks like a drive shaft for 947 in repair book. i dont know if it the wrong shaft sent or a sea doo part change? thanks again

I could be wrong but I'm thinking on a 951 the oil pump is on the other side of the engine, which means the shaft would turn in the oposite direction. So the pumps would not interchange. Does the pump and shaft have a part no. if so check to see if its the correct part.

This could be a big mistake if its the wrong pump.

These pumps rarely need replacing because they are self lubricating, are you sure you need a new one?
