Oil Pressure Issue - 08 RXT

I recently replaced the motor in an 08’ RXT and after getting it running, it doesn’t have any oil pressure.

The dealer won’t work on it because it’s an SBT Motor.

Has anyone ever run into an oil pressure issue with these motors? The dealer said the motor needs to be pulled to inspect the pump.

Have you checked the oil pressure using an external gauge? Explained clearly in the manual.

Very unlikely it has 0 oil pressure. It would seize the engine almost instantly if it were 0. Did you change oil pressure switch with the correct one?

The 4tec oil pressure system is very reliable and works well even after the pump gears are very chewed up from flywheel fragments. There are 2 oil pumps, a front secondary one and a rear main one, so what are the odds both are not working at all to give 0 psi?

Great point. I’m getting this info from the dealer.

The sensor on the block is stripped. I’m having another guy look at it so maybe he finds something different.

A friend had engine problem with his SBT Motor when Oil pressure relief spring plug with Collapse spring and Chain tensioner Plug had no Crush Washer behind allen head plug, After replacing item from old engine, ski ran like a new, after about 1-month of aggravation, No help from SBT.

I'm having similar issues. I picked up two 2005 GTX S/C. One has the oil light above 2500 rpms. Spent an hour here and there the last week taking everything out of the rear of the ski to remove the PTO cover. I've found the inner of the two oil pressure regulator springs missing completely, and the piston was seized in the guide. My rear oil pump, while lightly scored all over appears to be in ok condition and teeth mesh very closely together, but certainly not to a point to only have 5lbs of pressure I measured from the oil pressure sensor bung.

Interested in what other replies you get. I found a post last week of someone that had an SBT engine and they had oil pressure issues. He referenced a 2004 SeaDoo bulletin, somewhere around page 40 there is a description that the main oil valley that feeds the crank bearings and connects the front and rear oil pumps was completely blocked. Even solvent soaking from a reman'd SBT engine didn't clear the duct. He had to clean out with 6 cans of carb cleaner and a fuel line hose hooked to compressed air. I'll be doing this shortly on mine once I get the front oil pump off to see if there is a blockage anywhere.
