I have a 96 Challenger I just bought the oil light in on in it as well. I assumed it had to do with the oil pump being bypassed and that I now premix. Am I mistaken? I am new to the jet boat stuff so I have not idea.

Thanks for any info.

Even if the oil injection was bypassed, the oil tank still needs to be hooked up to the engine as it supplies oil to the rotary gears. Make sure the hoses are connected to the center of the crankcase, and make sure there is oil in the tank.

Good to know. Yes the oil tank is still in there hooked up and full of oil. Is the oil light connected to the tank or the engine sensors. Also does it matter what kind of oil I put in the tank if its just for the rotary gears? Wil any two stroke oil work or does it need to be a special type?

Thanks for the info.

I think you still need to stick with an API approved oil like XPS or Quicksilver PWC. The sensor is in the oil tank. They go bad and are fairly cheap.
