Oil injection system

So I figured out my oil injection cable broke off on the carb. My question is where does it lead to? I have a 95 spx 657 x and I see where it goes to on the bottom of the carb but have no idea where it leads to after it is attached there. Also can somebody elaborate on what purpose it serves? Could this broken cable be the reason my ski starts idles and then dies after 30 seconds or so?

It goes to the oil injection pump that is under the carb on the intake manifold. IF it cable breaks it should flow wide open oil and run super rich.

So this wide open oil is likely the cause of my trouble with the engine having no power and only idling for about thirty seconds? Likely the oil is either packing the engine so full it can't get enough fuel or fouling the plug and causing weak sparks to shut it off? Am I on the right track to get up and running?

On older skis many things can cause those issues but I would fix the cable install new plugs and give it a go first.

Does anybody know what cable I could use? I can't find one online that matches the 657 but was wondering if any others would work

Seems to be a discontinued part. Man oh man the only one I can find would come from the UK and shipping would cost the price of the part. Any real big Seadoo guys here know of any other oil inject cables would work? Any mods I would have to do to them

Is the oil pump housed under the carbs? And why does my gas have a reddish hue to it? Changed lines and all am I getting oil in my gas via the return line? Is oil mixed in the carbs?

What way do i turn the oil injection under the carbs to turn down the flow? Clockwise or counter clockwise? If i can clean out carbs and figure a way to manually play with this while engine is running I may have found my problem.

The lever is not a set and forget switch. I has to be under tension with the cable attached to the carb and adjusted correctly. With the cable unhooked it is wide open.

Your gas would only have color if something has been added to the gas. Oil injections the oil get mixed right before it goes in to the engine. Those small lines from the pump to the rotary valve case is how the oil enters. You can tell which way the arm would go since you will fell tension on the arm from the spring.

if you go premix, you will use a lot of oil. The pump uses less oil at idle, and more (close to premix) at full throttle. usually dont fail, but the hoses tend to dry rot and get brittle.
