Oil in sportster and speedster

Does it matter what kind of oil I run in the 657x or the 720 motors. I know to run the rotax oil but as far as the synthetic or the regular? Just curious because I bought the synthetic and that is what I have ran since I bought the boat, but next to where you put it in it says not to use ashless oils. And I know the synthetic is a low-ash oil. Any advice would be appreciated.

if it is the SeaDoo oil... you are fine. You just don't want to switch back and forth from the synth to the mineral oil.
