Oil cover does not sit flush after and oil change... Is this normal

Fellas,
I should of taken a pic of things before getting started :facepalm: but after I drained the oil, removed and replaced the filter, the oil cap does not sit flush or snug. Look at the pic and tell me what I am doing wrong.. Pretty please..

Btw, Been a grease monkey since I was a kid, so I know how change my own tire and of few other nic naks... :driving:

Looks normal to me, the gap is from the big (red) o-ring on the outside lip of the cap. Like others said, as long as it fits snug and does not leak you are good to go.

Is that a plastic cap? If so you may wish to upgrade to an aluminum one. Seadoo stopped making the plastic caps some time ago presumably because they warped and leaked.
