Oil Change, Question Regarding the Little O-Ring.

I forgot to change the small o-ring (pictured below) during an oil change.

If I remove the existing oil filter, will oil overflow from the filter housing? The craft has not been turned on since the oil change so oil has not been mechanically pushed through the system via the engine.

Oil generally obeys the law of gravity. Is the filter housing above or below the oil level?

It’s slightly above the oil pan. (2014 RXT-260 w/ 1503 cc 3 cylinder engine)
