Upon closer inspection of my new to me skis, I found blue/green oil in each of them.. Im in the process of clearing them out as best I can and refilling with XPS or equivalent API-TC but was unsure how the oil system cycles the oil. I understand the oil bath line is gravity fed, but is there any way to prime it to be sure the RV gets its oil?

Hey, time to take that dioded GS out, remove the rotary valve cover and with the oil pump and lines still attached or with new lines, put it up on the bench test with a drill running counter clockwise. Use the little plastic piece between the pump and crank. It'll prime, you've got to prop the oiler up and with a small 5/16 line to funnel a little oil in it. I used the same new line after the filter when I installed it to minimize air getting back in it.

No, don’t pull the rotary cover.

The rotary bath gear is just gravity fed and the oil doesn’t circulate. Just fill the tank and it will fill the cavity.

For the oil pump just open the bleed screw on it and it will fill with fresh oil and purge the air out.

Then just start the ski and hold the oil lever wide open and it will pump fresh oil through the little lines from the pump to the intake.

Thats what I figgerd... Does the oil ever move out of the crank return line (upper line going to the top of the tank)? Thats the only line I havent drained yet.. Does that one to be primed or will the "supply pressure" eventually push the left over thru there?

No, the oil never circulates, the oil just seeks its own level with the tank. Think of it like the oil fills from the bottom and pushes the air out the upper hose into the oil tank.
