Does anybody know for sure what type of fuel should be used for a 2001 Seadoo GTI? I have heard both regular unleaded and High Octane. I would really like to know the answer to this so I can run the fuel that it is designed to run.
Thanks

87 will do

I believe if you read through your manual it wll state that a minimum of 87 octane should be used. Also if you would like to see some debates on this question use the search button and type in octane to see what other people have to say.
From my personal experience I have used both in my ski and did not notice a difference either way except the obvious fact that the 87 was much cheeper than the 93 here in CT. I say use the 87 unless it is stated in your manual to use a higher octane unless you want to loose money on something that will not benift you.

:agree:
use what the manafactor wants in it
no benifit is gained from using a higher octane fuel in a engine designed for 87
high octane fuel in a low compression motor will lead to incomplet combustion,
lower combustion temps. lower power output and carbon build up
my two cents
mud

We can get 98 octane over here UK.
Gives a more rapid throtle response.:)

But if you want your ski to be within waranty or last abit longer use as stated in the owners manual.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't have a operators manual to look this question up. But I was able to download one online and it does say to use 87 octane. Thanks
