I think its time to call my SPI a lemon.. She didnt wanna run over the 4th.. this season it decided it doesnt wanna idle, and its really difficult to start, last year it started up fine.. I cleaned the fuel selector, went thru the carbs, replaced all my filters, everything I could think of.. Well, when I finally got her goin, after about 5 mins it started to beep, im pretty sure its a overheating sensor.. So i stopped running it, then ran it again after it cooled and it did the same thing.

I came to the conclusion it was either the water pump, or the oil pump went out. I checked the plugs and they were dry and white, very evident it was running lean. So, I added oil to the gas. (apx. 32:1 ratio) and the beeping stopped, and it seemed to run ok, and the plugs got darker.. So obviously my oil pump just went out? Or the filter got clogged up. So heres the problems with her....
-Wont idle
- VERY difficult starting
-Overheating sensor goes on periodically

And, when i pulled the teather off, the button fell off, so i had to replace that.. I just kept it duct taped down so i could run it this weekend.. Also it cranks over VERY weak.. The batterys new.. The first time this season it cranked over strong, then the next few times it kept getting weaker, untill eventually it quit cranking, so i charged the battery back up and the cycle repeats, this leads me to believe the Rectifer on it is bad, because obviously the battery isnt getting recharged.. Or the starter itself is junk..

TIME TO SELL IT! Ive dumped way to much money into it already, its not worth it anymore. and yea i kno the answers ill get, " its old what do you expect"? Well i sold many old seadoos on the lake and none of them were having any problems like mine.. I also had to get towed in by a kawasaki because it just died in the middle of the lake and didnt wanna crank back over.

And a quick question, wheres the idle screw exactly at on this ski? Im gonna try bumping it up to see if that fixes the idling issue

I know that no one will be honest with me, but are tigersharks any good? Came across a great deal on one on CL.. also found a good deal on a polaris.. I may have to make the switch

I'll just keep talking to myself sense the 85 people that viewed this cant post a reply... I noticed 2 clear lines going to the exhaust, and the one had air bubbles in it, prly not supposed to eh?

I am pretty sure the upper clear line from the top of the pipe is to tet trapped air from the highst point of the pipe. Also some water will come out of there that is why it goes to the pisser. The other clear tube should be the battery vent. Unless someone changed tubing somewhere down the line....But I don't know what lines you are talking about

do compression test. WHite plugs aint good, so think the test will tell you.

It only was runnin white for maybe 2 mins, i premixed it after and the plugs look good now.. I dont think its an engine problem, because when it runs, it runs great and top speed is 48.7 gps.. How do i go about completely bypassing the oil injection?

the oil pump, is at the bottom of the carb/s. Plug the oil line that has the filter inline, then atleast, you can remove the little oil lines from manifold, and cap the fittings, on the manifold.

You may have just mixed the wrong oil and have gel in the lines, always mark the tank in the beginning of the season and run premix until you know the OEM oil system, then gas and go - keep extra plugs and tools so you can overcome fouled plugs when you have to idle waiting for a ramp.

Its funny you say that, i did actually change oils this season.. Ill check all the lines and clean them out.. maybe that will cure that problem, and no more premixing will be neccasary... I would still like to hear peoples thought on why my ski wont idle tho.. I put in a bottle of seafoam in the gas and that didnt help it.

maybe your low speed mixture is off... im not 100% sure though so see if anyone else thinks thats it. if you do adjust anything make sure you know where you started.
