No start, just cranks.

Engine has new ignition coils, new plugs, new battery and when installed started like a beast on the first turn of the key! Started it with water hose attached this morning in the driveway, again it cranked right up and ran it for about 3/5 minutes. Got to the ramp put it in the water wouldn’t start! Tried and tried and tried! Trailered it got it home, checked it over, cleaned the fuel filter IT WON’T START! WTF??? Does anyone have a clue what might be going on???

Start with a compression test, also should only run it for 45 seconds or so on the hose, it’s really only for back flushing the cooling system. You can start it dry and let it run for 30 seconds

Pull plugs, inspect them, spray a shot of starter fluid (or safer for engine gas/oil mix) in cylinders, put plugs in and try to start, see what happens. Starts up? Fuel problem. Doesn’t start? I keep hearing horror stories about cheap brand new ignition coil’s that are failed before they even arrive or fail right away.

Common to have brand new coils be bad out of box as others mentioned above.

Good luck!
