Have a 95 and 97 seadoo gtx. 95 took out and ran great..97 would not start and has no spark both ran great a month ago. cheap fixes? small budget.

The 787 needs a battery in tip top shape. If the voltage drops below 10.5v while cranking, it won't spark. It will still turn over, and sound normal, but no spark.

"light test" the white wire at the coil, while cranking over motor. If it lights up, then clip your plug wires and try again. If no spark still, then replace the coil. If the light tester doesnt light up, then inspect the stator assy and/or check fuses and leads/grds conditions. Think also for that year, there was a little black wire from the ebox, that also needs to be connected to the neg side of battery.

Sorry im having the same problem in a 97 xp. in the coil imput should be have 12 ? How do you test correctly the stator and cdi in this cases?

without having the "pigtail" to connect up to the stator assy, you'll need to remove the mag cover to inspect the "pick-up" coil, mounted inside, on a bracket. 787's are proned to break that bracket. This is after you've verified that no juice is going thru the "white" wire, at the coil.
