No Reverse

My 97 seadoo speedster does not seem to have reverse. It is brand new to me. There doesnt seem to be as much resistance as there is as well when I put it into forward. It will go into reverse, but when I advance the throttle all it does it rev and bubble, but no movement, sometimes a slight movement to the side. Out of the water, the cups that are over the jets move upwards for forward, straight out for neutral, and the same for reverse. What is wrong?

When you put it into forward... make sure the buckets are locking up.

If they are... you are experiencing heavy cavitation.

Tks again for your help, you have answered a few of my questions, all bringing me back to my cavitation issue. Seaweed seems to be my second biggest problem, lol
