Hi all,I'm new to seadoo's,this site and 2 strokes,my question is,will a 1995 sp run properly or at all with out an oem flame arrestor.?

It will run, but not run well. Are you running without the airbox also? I wouldn't recommend running without either. If you have the parts I would put them back on the ski.

It may not go to full throttle without it. The carbs are tuned, with the restriction of the air-box.

With that said... the cabs can be tuned to run without it... but you won't gain anything. The factory airbox can support 110 HP... and your 95 SP is probably only 55 HP.

I bought the doo used, the guy told me it wasnt running properly, seadoo starts and runs fine out of water, when the doo is in the water with a load on it and you give it a hint of throttle action it dies,i did some research and took care of all that grey line issue and replaced all the lines, cleaned out all fuel system out icluding the carburator. So to anwser the previous question, yes i do have the oem airbox on it,but i did notice that the flame arrestor was missing and was wondering if there is no flame arrestor would that have some sort of effect.By the way i have not ran the doo after replacing the lines,im waiting on new arrestor,i just want to have all the parts in placed before i go further.

Havent been riding....im an auto tech so i would not want to risk running it with out an arrestor...

i'm running the stock flame arrestor on my 800, but without the lid. it still runs fine, without hesitations.

thanx for all the feedback guys,im waiting for the flame arrestor then ill make my way to the local lake, ill post the results asap....
