NGK BR8ES Gap Question

So I've just been going over my boat since I bought it fixing little issues here and there.

New fuel filters, cleaning rave valves etc.

Per the Manual the gap on these plugs should be .5 - .6 millimeters

I'm looking at my gap tool and the lowest it goes is .5 and that just looks so thin, I have to use a bit a force to get the plug to get that small. My question is also, once I have all the plugs gap'ed correctly, what type of improvement will I see. I'm trying to just smooth out the engines, they seem to run a bit rough.


btw, I have a 97 Challenger 1800.

The gap is also .021" - .024" That's the recommended gap. It should run better if you did the maintenance correct. Have you done a compression test to see what's going on inside? It should be ideally 150 psi.

yup, did a compression test when I bought it and was getting in the 140's.

You should be good to go. It should be more dependable and responsive after the maintenance.
