Hi all. First ride in our new to us 2007 Challenger 180. 215 SCIC. We were having a great time - for about 10 minutes. The engine and dash went totally dead, while doing about 30mph. Inserting DESS key in and out made no difference. Tried the switch for the battery, on and off and on.

While we were sticking our heads in the engine compartment to have a look, we could hear water running. Newb mistake: left the drain plugs out. Jumped overboard, inserted plugs. Bilge pump didn't cut in automatically, nor did it evac any water when I turned it on manually. It had only been in the water while not up to speed for 2-3 minutes at the most while boarding.

We got a very slow tow to the dock, loaded the boat, and drained it: a gallon came out, possibly 2.

I have power to all accessories except the key.

Question: could the water have caused the shutdown? It's been dead ever since.
Or, is it possible that I have blown a fuse, or have a DESS key gone dead? And the drain plugs were just a coincidence?

Picture of our ride before all went south!
Thanks in advance!
