newb from Texas

just got my 96 GTX running again, and, i'm wondering what i can do to make it go faster???? the fastest i've ever got er up to was 60, and right after i did that, my dad took off and broke the damn impeller...

just got it back, and can't wait to ride on it Sunday at lake Rayburn...atriot:

60 is very fast for a GTX! I've got a 99 GTX and I've only got it up to 55 on a mild chop at Lake Whitney.

I've never been to Sam Rayburn, but it is one of the Texas lakes I will visit! Maybe one day we can get all the Texas folk for a Meet and Greet:cheers:

whatever mods you do will decrease the life span of the motor.. Dont risk it IMO... If u do, youll wanna start with a fresh/strong motor, so rebuild it... then add flame arrestors and after market impellor/ intake grate

there was one day on Rayburn a few years ago, it was Memorial Day Sunday, there was all of three other boats on the water besides my dad's Bayliner and my dad's friend's Skeeter bass boat, and the water was smooth as glass, IIRC, this was the weekend i broked the ski, i bet i coulda hit 70....:driving:<===y'all need a smiley like that w/ a boat in it instead of a car...

so, what are a few mods i can do to this thing to make it go faster??? colder or hotter plugs, any specific brand of two stroke oil that makes it go faster(stupid question, i know...) i'm all ears for anything that makes it faster...

yeah, it's 13 years old now, i'm sure it could use a re build... does anyone make a turbo or super charger kit for it???

IMO if u want a faster ski, buy one! Buy a new 09 255hp with SC, youll hit 70mph!

bud, i barely had the money to fix this one, so, a new one is outta the question. do they sell stroker kits for this motor? i think that would be the best for me...

i'll have pics of it up when i get it back to my house on the sixth...
