Im currently in the market for a SEADOO, I know its kind of late in the season but i think I found a great deal. I found a 2013 RXT 260 with 15 hours on it for 9000. Is there anything I should be leary on? Thanks and hopefully have one soon!

Take it for a ride and drive, that is really the only way to know the quality of the ski.

I bought a new untitled 2009 in 2011 (it was in a box that was buried in a warehouse taken from a foreclosed dealer). I pad $9,500 for it then. Due to technology and inflation, your ski would be priced higher than mine comparatively speaking.

That said, I think 9 grand is just a bit high. Yes, the hours are low, but it is four-years old. I think you can find something newer for the same money.

But again, if the ski is in GREAT shape, rides and dives well, and you are happy, the money isn't too far out of line.

You will need to rebuild the SC even though it has only 15 hours. The squirrel cages get brittle with age, break while running, and the parts fall into the engine. It will cost you $450 to get it rebuilt.

Use that as a bargaining chip, get the ski cheaper. I'd shoot for about a grand less...

I bet their price is based on what they paid plus what it actually cost them,,, No matter what the end cost was due to financing, the ski is only worth so much,,,

Positive it will need a rebuild? thought they were good for 200hrs hasn't been used that much either.

100 hours or 2 yrs, whichever comes first. Once it is rebuilt with the updated shaft, BRP says 200 hours, but still 2 yrs. Which basically means every 2 yrs as you will never hit the hour mark in that time frame. It was nothing more than a PR thing as NO PARTS actually changed. So they use the exact same parts as they did before they announced the change. The bearing cages get brittle and break with age.

So do I take it do a dealer? Or send supercharger in?

I would send it to this site. $425 (I believe) which includes return sniping. All OEM parts and updated shaft.

Warranties will often cover things breaking, not normal wear items such as the SC. I would take a look at the paperwork and confirm when it ends and what it covers.
