I picked up a pair of SeaDoo's yesterday - a '96 GTI and '97 SPI. Low hours, great shape, etc. Well, my wife wanted to switch rides, so she took off on the GTI and I pushed away from shore on the SPI, but apparently not far enouogh - sucked up some rocks. I don't have a manual downloaded yet, can someone point me in the right direction to pull this apart and clean it out? Thanks in advance, Rick

Fil a 5 gallon bucket with hot water and add 1/2 cup laundry detergent to it, then pour into the engine compartment. Next tow the ski around town for a 1/2 hour and pull into a car wash, remove or open the rear ski drain plugs, unhook ski and tilt her trailor nose high, pull the front basket out and begin washing it out from nose to transom. Spray WD-40 or other preventative onto all internal engine compartment componets when done. Spray clean the Jet pump inlet and nozzle area while there. When you get home use a flashlight and examine the wear ring and impellor. Remove to repair or have your local shop determine, diagnose, and re-oil as needed.

Look up through the intake grate. You can often remove debris from there. If the impeller is damaged then remove the rear nozzle and then the pump. Pretty straight forward when you look at it. In our HOW TO section you will find how to remove the parts.

Thanks. The rock that got stuck in there so engine wouldn't even turn over must have worked itself loose and I pulled it out. Lesson learned, now time to go back to the lake.
