Hello,

I bought a 95 SPX a few weeks ago.
I have the gray lines and fuel selector replaced along with the carbs rebuilt.

The ski runs great.

However is there anything else that I need to do?

Such as replace the pump oil?

I want as much trouble free riding as possible.

thanks for your help.

Welcome.

If you want trouble free riding... then every service point needs checked to make sure there aren't any issues. (Especially if it's been sitting)

Seadoo is very specific on it's oil. It must be an API-TC oil. Most people will just run what ever is on sale at wal-mart. SO... unless you know what oil is in the tank... I recommend draining it, replacing the filter, filling it up with a good quality oil, and bleed the system.

The other thing that I would check, is the oil in the jet pump. If there is water in it... the bearings will give up quickly.

Then... the last thing is... if it still has gray "Tempo" fuel lines... at the end of the season, you should change them all, and clean out the carbs, filter, and fuel select valve.

Have fun with it.

It has SeaDoo oil in it. The oil lines are unstained and I was given a gallon of Seadoo oil with the ski.

I had a typo in my post, I meant to say that I paid to have the gray lines changed out for black lines, a new fuel selector installed, and both carbs rebuilt.

Please can someone provide a link to how to change the jet pump oil?

Again thank you for the help.

Don't know if there is a link... but it's easy. Take the 4 bolts out of the steering nozzle, and put it aside. (hanging from the steering cable) Now you should be looking at a cone, behind the pump. There should be a grub screw (Set screw) in it. Take it out, and stick a wire into the cavity. It should be full of oil, and it should be clean. If it's not full, top it off with GL5 75w-90 synthetic gear oil. If it's milky... remove the 3 screws holding it to the pump, and pull it off. Once the oil is drained... put it back on, and re-fill. IF, it's very wet, and nasty, I would recommend rebuilding the pump. (new bearings and seals)
