I have a 2015 rxtx 260 , I recently installed a new ibr because the old one was real bad and I went out for a ride and it only worked momentarily and then I got the ibr code and it would not work. Than I changed the main harness because the mechanic thought that since the ski had gotten water into it the cables could be damaged so I put in a brand new main harness. I went out and took it for a ride and it was giving me the same code on the dashboard than it miraculously worked alll day. The week after that I took the ski out again, and I got the code again and the ibr function did not work at all the whole day. What could this be!? I also had my jet pump rebuilt when I put it in the new ibr , could it be an issue with the jet pump? , tired of throwing money around and the issue isn’t fixed. If anyone has any idea please let me know.

Sounds like typical ibr module failure. Many times it starts as an intermittent failure and gets worse until it doesn't work at all.

Just check your IBR mechanism first. Check if it binds. Can you move it in override?

If there is excessive friction when moving up or down. The override you can find in your cluster under settings. You can find it in the manual or check youtube, several movies about this.
You battery is in perfect condition? If the voltage is a bit low this might be a reason to of throwing ibr codes.

Who installed the IBR and what was wrong with the old one, very technical system. You need to find out what caused the first one to fail. Service manual with good mechanical skills a must or take it to a dealer.

Okay I did the override and at first it moved a bit but than it didn’t move at all... and yes my battery is brand new

Some mechanic here in Miami, the old one was had gotten water damaged and had salt and barnacles growing all over it

Very important your gate moves freely as Ricky mentioned, disconnect it from the IBR motor and make sure the barnacles aren’t obstructing gate movement, better yet take the gate assembly out and clean it, inspect bushings. Hopefully you haven’t trashed another IBR motor module.

Shits not moving at all..

Did the mechanic marry the ibr module to the ECM with BUDS?

Chester
he said he had trouble marrying it , so he had to marry it to the old one or something like that. Because the new one didn’t come with programming, some bull shit like that

Yoooooo i was doing the override incorrectly but turns out there is EXCESSIVE friction when the gate comes down

Get the gate out and solve that first before you toast the new IBR. Maybe a few new bushes will solve the problem...
