New Hardware update kits for carbs

I installed these about a month and a half ago. They worked great! Just now getting pics up.
Getting the old screws out was a major pain.

The heads stripped. Was able to get most out with a hand impact screwdriver. But this one was the hardest. Had to take a torch to it and turn it in 1/8 increments with lots of pb blaster.

After all that I forgot to take pics of the new ones installed. They worked great and I recommend them!
Thanks JSG.

As mentioned on other threads here the phillips-type screws are actually JIS as indicated by the little indented dot on the head. Acquiring the proper drivers (available at many sites, I got mine on Amazon) will make working with these screws much easier, even if the goal is to remove and replace with something else. Since using the proper driver I have not stripped out the head of any JIS screw (now I went and said it). A cheap substitute sometimes works by grinding off the tip of a phillips screwdriver of appropriate size so the driver does not bottom out in the screw head.

Love this idea! I did this to my carbs about 2 years ago while I was working for a bolt supply house. I also replaced the little screws that hold the seat and needle arm with socket screws. No more beating your head against a wall over the little demon screws. I swear if you look at them the wrong way they strip.

Do the 587 and the 657 use the same 38 carb? Looking for a set for my dual carb 587 setup!
