Yesterday I pulled my jet pump because i was havineg problems w my hole shot n all. So I took it off and noticed that my wear ring was out a little so I stuck a 2x4 on there n 2 good taps it slid in flush its really tight now. I checked all my bearings they look really good. Well I want to go the lake tomorrow so can I just use rtv in place of neoprene seal mine looked wore out so I cleaned it up. I hope my problem is fixed now. I called seadoo shop they don't have seals n don't stock them he said rtv works better. Also I pulled the bearings off the impeller shaft and cleaned n put back on but is there a certian way it goes on. It's the little thin disc one that goes on last. Thanks.

Hi Brandon,

The RTV will work O.K., try to use enough to seal but not too much. The advantage of the neoprene seal is to make it easier to remove the pump the next time. When I replaced the wear ring in my XP I used RTV because I didn't want to wait to order a neoprene seal. Works fine, don't know about removing the pump.

BTW the neoprene seal was completely deteriorated, it was probably original to the ski.
