Does anyone know of a substitute for the discontinued elbow shaped cable guide on the cable between the carburetor and the oil injection system 270000187 CABLE GUIDE for a 99 Sportster with single carburetor 720's?

If not can someone post a picture of it so I know what the original looks like if I need to build my own. I am thinking about taking a small section of nylon bearing tube with a bolt hole down the center often found in hardware stores in the small parts department, put it in a drill to turn it and use a file to cut a grove for the metal retaining bracket, then cut a slit down one side with a dremil tool to put the cable in, then bend it over a flame to make an elbow.

I did a search using JUST the part number you posted, no description. I found three locations that say they have it. In all cases i was able to "Add it to my cart"

Here is a picture of it..

Before I figured I could leave them ON the boat to never be removed again, I ordered a few. (I broke 2 or 3 trying to get them out.)

I have 7 in my spare parts bucket. Are they REALLY discontinued?

I thought of making one in dire times, and I figured I would use bicycle cable routing tube as seen on some bike brakes, aided by 2 nuts with slots on them to squish the tube against the guide in the engine. It does have a bend to it. Are you missing it from both engines? or just the one you are looking at?

I KNOW I am missing it from one side, noticed when I went to reinstall the carburetor today, I have not pulled the other (left engine) carburetor yet, I wanted to keep it installed for reference if I needed it and did the easier to access one first. Will look more for someone with old stock on hand.

p.s. keeping this short as I just had a pipe blow out for my bath tub while I was typing this, the fun of 113 year old houses.
