Hey guys,

I am a first year owner for my 1997 speedster twin rotax engines. We took it up to our cabin and got it running on the water and I noticed a couple of things.

1. The engine on starboard side ( driver side) does receive gas into the handle is half way up.

2. I think its because of the first one, I notice that the boat grips harder and makes the boat go right instead of straight. ( they run a different RPM's when both throttle hands are even one would be at 2.5 rpms and other would be at 4 rpms)

3. There is a hose that is on the inside of the boat that is suppose to let water out of the boat. In our instance it does that but only when I'm constantly moving. If i am sitting in the water with the engines off the water starts to come in through that hose.

Lastly, 4. when I was looking at the engine at a slow speed i noticed that the starboard side ( driver side) was shaking a lot more then right other side. the other side was barely shaking at all.

It seems to me that the driver side engine is giving me the problems.

Please if you guys have any idea on any of these problems let me know

Thanks

1) not sure what you are asking.

2) You could have a bad drive shaft seal, or other pump leak. Cavitation can cause this problem.

3) That drain goes out the transom, and there is something called a Scupper valve. They get hard, and stop sealing. Replace the rubber flap, and it will be fine.

4) When things are cool... grab the exhaust pipe, and push the engine side to side, and look at the rubber engine mounts. One may be broken.

For 1. in not sure weather to replace the throttle cable or try to adjust it more from the carb. i tried adjusting it from the levers but it didnt make it worse or better. i guess im asking for suggestions on how to make both throttle levers even with power when i take up instead of one having more rpms then the other.
