Looking at 2008 sea doo 115 215 hp supercharged
listed on e bay.
With only 24 hr ? do owners unhook the hour meter ?
looks good super clean some gel coat rub off on bottom from beaching in sand is this is normal for 24 hr ? how fast will gel coat rub of in the sand ?
Started up first on crank restart also on first crank. Sounded good, idle may be slow.
I put it in drive and it made a grinding sound ?????, is this norm if not in water?
I told him i wanted to test run in water after hearing grinding noise.
With only 24 hr but 7 years old what service in needed ? supercharger rebuild ? and if so what kit is best?
What will in cost for full service?
I can do all the labor myself with help from this site.
Thanks

No easy way to disconnect the hours, it is not uncommon for an 08 to have low hours depending on location, age of owners, and how often they could use it.

Gel Coat is pretty tough, it would take a lot of beaching to rub it off. Not uncommon for some scratching if beached in a rocky area. fill scratches with marine epoxy.

SeaDoo's are known to make a rattle noise out of the water. Once in the water the impeller puts a load on things and the noise is gone.

You should ALWAYS a do a test drive. Minimum of 30 minutes as it takes this long for an issue to present itself in some cases.

SCr will need rebuilt for two reasons. If it has ceramic washers (08 was the last year but MANY had them still) they are engine killers. And, after a few years no mater the hours the bearing races get brittle and can fall apart.

This site does a full rebuild for $405 and that includes return shipping to you.

Not worth doing on you own in most cases as the cost of the tools and required parts is fairly high.
