Hello, this is my first time on this site and needed some help on a ski. I am looking at a 2007 rxp 215 with 160 hours. It looks to be in good shape. I believe it is mostly stock. I will be going to look at it tomorrow. I know about the washers needing to be replaced, and the superchargers to be rebuilt. Lets say that everything looks good when I go to look at it tomorrow, what else should I look for?
The dealer is asking $5299,without a trailer, which I think is kinda high. I think I might be able to get them closer to $4500. Do you guys think think this would be a good deal?

Thanks

I think 4500 would be a hell of a price, actually I don't think 5300 is ridiculous.

granted i've seen them sell for more and for less than those two amounts but its certainly in the ballpark.

based on what "little" research i've done on the RXP's I wouldn't be shopping for an 07 but 08 or newer, unless your strictly a river rat. This model does not handle chop very well.

Price is great at $4500 if the ski is nice. Being that it is at the dealer, the SCr may have already been done. If they say it is, get it in writing. Even around $5000, it is worth the money. I do agree with Spim, 08 and newer is better, but there's nothing wrong with the 07 as long you know what you're buying.

I talked to the dealer, the supercharger was rebuilt last week. I am also looking at a 08 rxp-x. The other dealer is asking $5999 with 60 hours. I like the px a little better, but I'm not sure I wanna pay a little more. I already had the xp and a jet boat, so i don't really wanna spend a ton on money on a secondary toy.

Coming from the xp, anything would be more enjoyable (smoother ride) than the xp.

TRUST ME... the 08 P-X is worth the extra money.... that would be my target ski.

I have friends with 04-07's RXP's and newer RXP-X, and its night and day, especially in chop. you want the P-X, will hold its resale value longer, much more in demand, better ski overall, work on pushing down their price if you can...

the xp will end up becoming your secondary toy to the RXPX.

I have he RXT-X and LOVE the machine. I will always own one for as long as I can walk/ride.

I paid $9999.00 in 2011 for it. It was a new untitled 2009. Had 1 hour on the meter. Came from a dealer that went bankrupt.

I ended going with the rxpx. It was overall really clean, well taken care of. Needs a little cleaning, but I'm very excited. I got it for $5000 out the door.

I appreciate the advice guys.

I previously read 07 and earlier machines have the hollow exhaust valves which destroy engines while 08 have the updated solid design. You made a good choice.
My 05 has about 100 hours and will have the valves replaced this winter. SC is already done using the upgrade kit.

Did you get the SC rebuild in writing?

I KNOW they are a dealer and I KNOW they TOLD you it was rebuilt. But,,, without something in writing, you really have no protection.

Coastie, I went with the 08. I did get in writing that there are no problems with the ski. They also have a 30 day warranty that if anything goes wrong, the will fix it cost free. Im really excited to the difference between the xp and this.

I should have it cleaned up and on the water by the weekend. Ill try to get some pictures up by the end of the weekend.

Yeah I'm pretty excited to give it a nice welcoming ride this weekend. I haven't decided if I'm going to add any mods yet. I think I'll keep it stock for the rest of the season, then decide if modding is the route I want to take.

I bought over $500 worth of goodies the first year I owned mine. I have NEVER installed them. Still sitting here in a box. It runs so well I don't care to do the work.

Impeller, grate, wedge and steering extension bar.

So I had a chance to take it out, and all I can say is wow! So far I'm very happy with it. I didn't get to fully use it because of 6 foot waves and up. I really liked the handling on it. The supercharger also sounds pretty good. The acceleration is also unreal. I'm still a little scared to really get on it and somehow ruin the engine or the impeller housing. Overall I'm very pleased with this machine.
